Basics of Sikhi Canada’s Internship Program 2022 is an exciting opportunity for students and professional young adults to get involved. Basics of Sikhi strives to share the wisdom of the Sikh Gurus with the world. Our interns work closely with our educators, media volunteers, and project development teams.

As an intern, through the Education Program Planner position, you will be provided with opportunities to develop leadership, communication, client service, teamwork, and digital skills. This experience will help you develop the fundamental skills that can be used towards your personal and professional paths going forwards. Alongside this, our aim is to equip you with the insight and skills to be able to serve the greater community however you choose. 

Goals

This paid, professional internship program aims to provide young people with the opportunity to:

Understand the various setbacks Sikhs (and non-sikhs) face in their lives and how Sikhi helps them through their mental, physical, spiritual, and political difficulties.

Gain valuable experience in the education and digital media fields of Sikhi.

Receive supervision, guidance, and mentorship from the sevadars (volunteers) dedicated to this path and work with the entire Basics of Sikhi - Everythings13 team.

Requirements

Participants Must

Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.

Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

Unfortunately, international students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

Be able to do remote work due to Covid-19 (must have a laptop/computer, internet access, and own a cell phone).

Have strong English writing skills.

Applicants must be able to dedicate 35 hours per week to this internship for 8 weeks.

There are 5 intern positions available as an Education Program Planner. Focus areas may include, but are not limited to:

Project Development

Digital Marketing & Editing

 Content Writing & Content Transcriptions

Community Outreach & Sevadaar (Volunteer) Coordination

Further Details

Dates: the starting date of employment within the internship is July 4, 2022 for 8 weeks until Monday, August 29, 2022 

Pay will be $15.65 hourly for 35 hours a week (applicants must be available to work for 35 hours per week).

Virtual Interview
